Well, that was a good break, but back to reality. I actually spent a LOT of money that I really shouldn't have, but I wont grieve over that... today. No, I'm too tired, and with a wicked sore throat that wont let go. It's deprived me of sleep twice already, so I feel like kicking it behind the knees. But I promise to come clean about it. Trust me, it will be embarrassing!
We went from Dallas to Austin, from Austin to San Antonio and back, then back to Dallas, all in a matter of 3 days. We visited Kennedy's memorials and found the X (along with a very... ahem, funny homeless personal guide who told us all about how the news are hiding what really happened at the time of his death-- you know, the typical conspiracy theorist). It was fun anyway. And I was with my dad. Otherwise, I would've really wanted to have a gun of me!
Speaking of guns, my brother did take us shooting at an inside shooting range. That was... interesting. Now I can say for sure that what happens in Walking Dead (show I've been dragged into but I can't watch very much because the drama annoys me) is quite impossible. They're running, turn back, and hit them straight in the face from at least 20 yards. Reality? We didnt get that many center hits. My dad did, but he had shot before. Me and my brother were bad at the beginning, but ended with some good shots at the end. Guns are cheap, but I think I'll stick with my dreams of buying a tazer...
I will go over more details later, and maaaaybe some pictures. It was my dad's birthday, after all, and he's someone I like showing off, because he's awesome like that. We both had a blast, but I can tell you that we were both happy to be home. It's stressing and very tiring to drive 75mph at all times for miles on end, and have to cross 3-lane roads from merge to exit in less than 1/4 mile!
Hey that's my state! Wish you had come to Houston!
ReplyDeleteHS
We thought about Houston, but sooo far, haha. At least I can say I've been there a bit!
DeleteIf you ever come let me know! I'm taking you out to talk finances lol
DeleteWelcome home!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteSounds like a fun trip.....but then again, I think ANY trip is a fun trip.
ReplyDeleteI was in Dallas in 1973 and saw the Kennedy stuff. Did you tour the Alamo while in San Anton?
We actually did! It was... small. Simple. But very pretty. My dad wanted to go to Waco, but that was way too midway to go on either journey.
DeleteFun times and yes to pictures!! I've never handled a gun and not sure if I want to. I've sometimes thought about having one when I'm living alone in the countryside in PEI, but perhaps a tazer :) would be better. Are they legal in the U.S.?
ReplyDeleteTazers are legal in some parts, MD being one of them (except B'more). Maybe I just need to get a really big noise maker!
