Late night good news!

I rarely write this late at night (or am up, for that matter), but I just got off PT job. Yup, midnight. Not a bad time for what it usually is.

However, I just couldnt wait to share! Today was so busy from start to finish, just with regular work load and moving furniture at work since we're trying to remodel the office. Anyway, my EF issue seems to have been... resolved on its own. We got a bonus at work today! It was unexpected, considering how tough of a year we've been having. We've had more incidents in the past 2 months than we used to have in a 6-8 month period! It's pretty awful and it has all of us pretty stressed. We had accepted that we would not be getting a bonus due to this.

However, the president of the company called us to let us know that despite all that, he was still giving out bonuses, albeit reduced. He also went on to tell me that because of my performance and otherwise cheery personality (even though I was on the slums all this week because of Star's passing), that they decided to give me the extra amount. It is extremely generous of them! I was very touched, especially to see any signs of light in the middle of all the sad and gloom.

Of course, first thing I did was return the $1k to the EF. Woo hoo! That leaves me with $500. What to do, what to do... knowing my utterly boring and responsible being, I would say that most, if not all will go towards not debt, but savings. Sigh. Bo-ring.

I just don't think I feel like shopping these days. I still have to install the pieces on my car, and get it aligned, so maybe I'll hang onto the money a bit more. Still, such a gift truly lifts my spirits and gives me a bit of ease. Alright, time to go back to going to bed. After 18hrs, you can bet I'm tired!

    1. That did cross my mind... more like it steam-train rolled right in. I will go looking for shoes. Warmer weather is coming, so I need to replace my lighter shoes for regular work and get some good-stuff shoes. Maybe I'd go to the store. Imagine that!

    2. Danskos are great for your back and knees but not the most beautiful shoes in the world, the male nurses and some of the females who dont wear danskos swear by anything made by new balance. Oldest dd who worked at a family owned shoe store from the time she was 15 said danskos(hmmm a pattern) or a sturdy walking shoe/sneaker. Nike's are pretty but you want comfort!!!! You can get an idea of Dansko and other shoes at zappos.com(which has ebates also). I know I know I push Dankso's but they are great shoes, will last forever if you take care of them and after you get used to them in a few days you will never regret them. Ok climbing down from my mom soapbox now. I think you should take a few dollars and treat yourself to something also..a book? Yarn? a new shirt or two. Remember we work so hard on getting out of debt that we sometimes forget that we should enjoy some of our money also!!! Now don't make me go all mom on you! :) Only kidding I would only yell a little

  5. Congratulations that's great news. Just catching up on a few blogs now and was very sorry to read of Star's passing. At least this takes the financial pressure off a little bit and when you're going through a tough time every little thing good that happens is all the sweeter.
