I'm thankful for...

I'm thankful for...

1. My friends. Couldn't/wouldn't do it without them.
2. My two jobs and the people I work with.
3. My health and well-being; mental and physical strength
4. My car that is still going the miles, even if only 1 window works
5. The place I rent, and the people I rent for (even if they still think full-time vegetarians eat bacon)
6. This past year and the wonderful experiences I've had (vacations and traveling)
7. This past year's bad experiences (they test my limits and make me stronger; give me more resolution to reach my goals)
8. My family. Enough said.
9. My budget (I do love how things work, even when they don't work)
10. My new work shoes (even if they're apparently smaller on my right foot and feel tight at the end of the night, they are SUCH a positive difference!)
Flats I was using as all purpose and new work shoes.
11. Free Christmas cards!
12. This blog and the people that stop by. It makes the journey all the more enjoyable, and sometimes easier, even when things just suck.

So that's 12! Now, if only I could say it was Friday and I was glad that Thursday was over with! That'd be worth a spot on my top 12 things.

Just put some alcohol on that tight spot next time you wear them and it will help the material stretch out a bit.

Thanks for putting up with my comments and I hope your Thanksgiving day trieals are over quickly.
Now pass the pie please.... ;-)

  5. Why are you thankful for your family when they've put you through so much misfortune and misery?

There are other definitions of family. The people who love you and care about you, even if they don't share your DNA, are your family. Many people who comment to this blog are your family, even if you don't realize it yet, more than those genetically related people will ever be.

    1. I've never denied my chosen family. But I still have my blood family, and they make me realize things. I'm just thankful that they've taught me some of the more unpleasant lessons about life.

    2. Does that mean you have to buy them gifts? Wouldn't your money be better spent getting out of the mess your family put you in?

Why don't you tell your mother, with a totally serious face, that your present to her is paying off all the shit she bought in your name. I mean, seriously, does all the shit she bought that you have to pay for not count as presents?

    3. I don't think I need to get into this with you right now, considering I've already explained my decision. Though thank you for the concern. I respect what you would do in my situation, but it definitely isn't something I'd do. I'm getting out of my mess in my own way.

    2. I think the name "Tanner" throws people off a bit. You don't see too many women with that name. Not to be sexist but it usually comes up in one way or another, I don't know how I thought you were a guy this whole time. Gender shouldn't matter but it does reframe things for me a bit. Perhaps this is a slight against boys but suddenly your altruistic behavior makes more sense.
