One thing I will always admire of my dad is his work ethic. Last night while waiting in the ER room, all that was bothering him (besides the pain) was that he had promised a co-worker he would help him install some tiles at his house. We finally got to bed at around 5am this morning.
I woke up at about 8am and checked up on him and he was doing great. No pain at all. Phew, that was a relief to hear. I know most people are used to their elder parents getting sick, but to me, it's still much of a shock.
Then I went back to bed and woke up again at 10am to find him gone. Called him a couple times before he answered, fearing he had gone to the ER without me, but he was working. He said he felt a lot better, and that work also keeps him moving and keeps the pain at bay. I know probably his work ethic is a bit shadowed by his lack of common sense... but it's still admirable.I'm off to catch a few more spare hours of sleep before working today. Hope you all are having a great weekend! It looks sunny and just warm enough for early spring.
Sorry to hear about your dad and everything you are dealing with these past few days. No wonder you are tired and not sleeping! Hang in there!
ReplyDeleteI hope your Dad feels better soon! My Dad had kidney stones passing just a month ago, and it's no fun- he was miserable :(
ReplyDeleteYou had a rough start to the weekend my friend but I am glad it is looking better. Hope you caught up on that missed sleep. I dislike when I don't get my 8 hours.
